Free intro course

Now, my business has probably improved a thousand percent. I’ve made serious headway, and I can clearly see the steps that I need to take to move forward.

Terry Martin

I wouldn’t just recommend the course, I like it so much I want to see it as part of my courses!

John Orian

And I could not just see the plan, and all the details I had to work through, but I could see the connection between all the pieces and why each of them are necessary.

Anthony English

It's working! The way people read some of the posts that I put on social media and even on my website, they say “yeah that's me, that's me, that's my problem, I need help with that”.

Carrie Tuttle

Do you know what to focus on next?

You’re not alone.

It feels like there’s a thousand parts to building a business. Should I be on social media? How do I get more leads? Why isn’t my marketing working? Why aren’t they buying? What about my brand? How do I build a landing page? How do I price my services?

There’s so much information out there, it’s difficult to make sense of what’s really important. So we focus on the next thing that gets our attention. We work harder and harder, but we still struggle.

Most of us aren’t trained to build a business

The vast majority of businesses are not started by entrepreneurs – they’re started by people who are good at their craft. With hard work and a lot of mistakes some of those businesses succeed.

But most of us struggle, because we weren’t trained to build a business so we don’t know what to focus on next.

Cartoon of a man surrounded by stacks of paper and looking overwhelmed
All (well, almost all) solopreneurs and small business owners suffer from overwhelm. The pressure mounts to get more clients and more revenue – so where do we need to focus next so we can get out of overwhelm?

Presenting the Tornado Roadmap

The Tornado Roadmap is a step-by-step program to build a better business faster:
  • find what’s holding you back,
  • prioritize the next thing you need to work on,
  • follow the guidelines to fix it, and
  • ask for advice when you need it.

A systematic approach to building a business.
First, make sure you have a solid foundation (otherwise your business will always struggle). Then design and build a customer journey to attract and delight your ideal customers. Only then do you design and kick off your marketing, after which you learn how to nurture your leads, sell your stuff and deliver a VIP experience.

Designed for impatient entrepreneurs
There’s no fluff in the Tornado Roadmap. I’ve stripped it down to the absolute minimum you can get away with, so you can do just what’s necessary to move your business forward.

What's inside

The Tornado Roadmap consists of four parts: the Courses, the Scoresheet, The Boardroom and the Boardroom Live sessions.

The Courses

The Tornado Roadmap includes four courses:

  • The Introduction, setting the scene, creating a shared language for talking about business and getting your tools ready;
  • Stage 1: Design where you design a solid foundation for your business (whether you’re just starting out or struggling to make it work);
  • Stage 2: Build all the content you need to deliver a VIP customer journey; and
  • Stage 3: Grow where you use your solid foundation and your VIP customer journey to attract, nurture, sell and deliver your services.

Building a business is not easy, but we’re going to take it one step at a time so you don’t get overwhelmed (you can even do this in your spare time). And two full examples—a coach and a consultant—show you how it works in practice.

Four courses, 90 lessons, 25 assignments and 9 best practice lessons is a recipe for overwhelm—which is why we take it just one step at a time. You can work through most lessons in 10-15 minutes; assignments take longer and I always recommend getting feedback in The Boardroom so you’re not stuck in your own head.

The Scoresheet

The Scoresheet is a spreadsheet—one group of sheets to help you keep track of how well you’re doing in each milestone, and a collection of 13 (and growing) tools to help you along the way.

The Scoresheet Summary gives you a birds-eye view of how you’re progressing. Each stage of the Tornado Roadmap has its own tab where you rate yourself on how well each milestone was completed. Score better than 5 before you move on to the next milestone; score less and you have some work to do.

The collection of tools will help you define your Ideal Clients, design a Customer Journey, plan your marketing, create and run tests to see if they really want what you’re offering, price your services and calculate your Path to Profit, and more.

The Boardroom

Got a question? Ask it in The Boardroom. Need feedback and advice from experienced, successful entrepreneurs? Get it in The Boardroom. Just need some support and encouragement? That’s what The Boardroom is for.

The Boardroom is our online community where you can ask me – and other entrepreneurs and experts – for advice on building your business. I’m personally there multiple times a day, and chances are you’ll get a response from me same day.

Our motto is: be kind, be helpful or begone. We all started from zero, and we help each other where we can.

You don’t have to build your business alone any more. The Boardroom is our online community where you can ask any question you want. Get answers directly from me, and insights and advice from other members. Our motto: be kind, be helpful or begone.

The Boardroom Live Sessions

Multiple live, online meetings each week. Join me and other entrepreneurs to discuss issues, get help and advice and see who else is around, what they’re doing and learn that we’re all on the same journey.

No time slot that works for you? Let me know and we’ll make one. We try to keep the meetings small enough so everyone gets a chance to be heard and be helped.

Who this is for

This program is for you if you meet the following 3 criteria:

number 1

You’re on your own (or run a small team)

The Tornado Roadmap is designed for solopreneurs and small business owners (teams of up to 3 or 4). You make the decisions in your business, and you most likely have to do most (if not all) the work yourself.

(You don’t need to have any kind of business training.)

number 2

You provide a service

You’re a consultant, business coach, graphic designer, interior designer, engineer, life coach, website developer, SEO expert, software developer, virtual assistant, bookkeeper, social media manager, copywriter, technical writer…

You get the idea, right? You provide a service based on your expertise.

number 3

You’re willing to show up and do the work

This is no quick fix to building a successful business. Yes, you can make a lot of money, but you have to be willing to show up and do the work.

I will show you what you need to do, step by step, and I will help along the way. But you have to do the work, otherwise you won’t have a business.

Your journey

The Tornado Roadmap stages and milestones
The proverbial 30,000 foot view of your journey. You will be working from left to right starting at the bottom to make sure there’s nothing that will come back to haunt you. If you score well in a milestone, you can skip it and move on to the next. Click for a larger image.

It starts with a solid foundation

If you’re starting your business from scratch, you’ll start with Stage 1 to design a solid foundation for your business.

And if you have a business, but it’s not doing as well as you want it to, you will start here too, because almost all problems are caused by something in the foundation of your business.

Then build a VIP Customer Journey

Most businesses point at marketing as their biggest problem, but we forget that it’s what happens after marketing that determines whether they buy or not. In Stage 2 you will build all the content you need to provide a VIP Customer Journey and start marketing to attract leads to your business.

Focus on growth

With a solid foundation and a VIP customer journey, you can focus on growing your business. Learn how to nurture and sell, deliver a VIP experience, and tune and troubleshoot the inevitable problems that show up along the way.

Stage 1: Design

Start here. Most businesses struggle because their foundation isn’t strong enough. The four milestones in Stage 1 will make sure you have a solid foundation to give you the best chance at building a successful business.

Stage 2: Build

It’s what happens after marketing that determines whether they buy. In Stage 2 we build the best possible customer journey to maximize your chances of the sale—and deliver a VIP service. Then we start marketing to attract leads.

Stage 3: Grow

The steps are very clear, and I know that I have to focus just on the next step to get stuff done. Knowing that I can focus just on that step, just focus on that, get it done, that makes sense to me and helps me move my business forward so much faster and with less overwhelm.

John Orian

The support is something you really just have to experience. And the live sessions where we get to see each other’s journeys and encourage each other. It’s not like a therapy group or anything like that, it much more driven with a mission.

Anthony English

So, I consider myself in the presence of genius because you've taken a very complicated, living, breathing thing, which is a business, and made it easy to understand and implement the different pieces, and also see where it's broken, or where it might break. Being able to see that in advance is a game-changer.

Michael Dargie

Limited Seats

Enrollment in the Tornado Roadmap is limited to 20 entrepreneurs per month (that’s how I make sure I can provide you with VIP-level support).

When we reach that limit, you will need to join a waitlist to get notified when sales open up again.
